All are invited and encouraged to bring a memento (pictures, religious symbols, objects, etc.) of a deceased loved one(s) with you to Mass next weekend. As we celebrate the Feast of All Souls, we will remember our loved ones who have gone before us and entrust them again to God's love and mercy. Please come a little early to Mass and place your mementos along the rock wall in front of the baptismal font where you can retrieve them after Mass. Small ritual actions such as these touch and express a deep place within us in the days, months and years in which we long to be reunited with our loved ones in the joy of heaven. Also, at the sound of the bells before each of the weekend Masses, we will light a candle and recite the names of all those whose funerals have been celebrated at St. Mary's since last All Souls Day. Special candles will be lighted in their memory near the baptismal font. May God be the hope and salvation of the living and the deceased.
