Blessing of Religious Items

Sunday, Jan. 11th is the Solemnity of the Baptism of the Lord, the official conclusion of the season of Christmas. As some of us have received new religious items in the Christmas season to be blessed, be sure and bring them with you to Mass next weekend as we bless them at our weekend liturgies. One of the special marks of our Catholic faith is our use of symbols and signs (sacramentals) to help us continually remember and reorient our lives of faith.
**We are often faced as well with blessed items that have broken or aged and need to be discarded in a worthy manner. Until the end of January containers will be available in the Gathering Area and the Parish Office to collect blessed items which we will worthily dispose for you.
